LILLIAN BASSMAN: PHOTOGRAPHY MASTER

I have only recently discovered the photographs of Lillian Bassman and fell completely in love. Vanity Fair Magazine singled her out as one of 'photography's grand masters'. Her photos capture a combination of mystery, drama, sensuality and spontaneity. She created the unique quality of her work through darkroom manipulation, blurring and bleaching areas of the photograph.
