EARLY HOURS EP + THE FUTURE

'Early Hours' EP 

This week will be a busy one for us. We release our new EP, 'Early Hours'. It contains four new songs, two of which we have shot videos for.

The EP will be available for a 'Name-Your-Price download' from our Bandcamp and Facebook pages. We are happy for you to download the EP for free, but you will need to provide your email address and join our mailing list. We will use this to contact you occasionally about news, releases and shows. We won't give your details to anyone else.

Both videos have been directed by Rankin's film director Vicky Lawton. As part of our collaboration with them we are taking over Hunger (Rankin's magazine) TV's website this week. As well as premiering the video, we will be releasing a video interview and a stripped down live session of Catherine performing 'Chances'.

Also this week, we are playing a gig as part of Vogue's fashion night out on Thursday, at the All Saints store on Regent Street. We have working with All Saints on some exciting projects, and we will reveal more about this very soon...

The Future + The Album

Some of our older fans may be thinking, 'Night Drive EP came out 18 months ago, why are you doing another EP and not an album!?' and a lot of you have vocalised that on our Facebook and Twitter. 

The answer is, we had an album ready to go, but setbacks with our label have meant we've needed to push back album release into 2013. Trust us, no one was more frustrated than us. While we were sorting things out with our label, we kept on writing music. We found ourselves with more music than we knew what to do with, and a lot of it sounded exciting, and sounded fresher than some of the things we had been working on for our album. So we decided we wanted to get some of it out as soon as possible, to show people where we are at now musically. That's where 'Early Hours EP' comes in.

Rest assured we are working hard on the album. We're taking the best of our older and newer songs, making them work together, and we think we're going to have an amazing album for you all in the new year. Thank you for being patient, and we hope you'll still be there listening in 2013 and into the future, because for us this is just the beginning of a long musical journey.

'GOT ME WRONG' VIDEO TEASER

Here is the 'Got Me Wrong' video teaser. The full video comes out tomorrow. It was directed by Vicky Lawton, who also directed the video for 'Chances'. Both videos sit side by side stylistically, even though they are very different in content and performance. Watch this space!

SUBFOCUS + ALPINES: 'TIDAL WAVE'

Over the past few months we have been working with Subfocus on his next single called: 'Tidal Wave'. It has been an incredible experience working with such a talented and successful producer and we are very excited for you all to hear the song. 'Tidal Wave' will be played on Radio 1 tonight, as it is Zane Lowe's 'Hottest Record In The World'. Tune in from 7.30pm to hear it!

ALPINES + KARL LAGERFELD

A couple of weeks ago Karl Lagerfeld launched his pop up store at Selfridges in London. The evening celebrated the new store and his Olympic inspired capsule collection, exclusive to Selfridges. We attended wearing some pieces from the collection.

HOLLY RUSSELL MA COLLECTION

Today, fashion designer, Holly Russell released images of her latest collection for her MA degree. The collection is a stunning mixture of the futuristic and chic. I was lucky enough to wear some of her designs in the video for 'Got Me Wrong', which is coming out in the next few weeks.

This week we have been filming two videos for the next release, which is going to be a four track EP. We have chosen to make videos for two of the songs on the EP called 'Got Me Wrong' and 'Chances'. WILLIAM MILLER: 'Ruined Polaroids'

For anyone that has read this blog before, you may have noticed that the theme of 'polaroids' crops up quite regularly. It does seem that there is a new wave of love for this cumbersome, yet wonderful camera and the photos it produces. In this post, I am looking at the photography of William Miller, who turns damaged polaroids into fascinating and beguiling abstract artworks.

A year ago, Miller bought a polaroid camera (an old Polaroid SX-70 to be precise) at a yard sale in the States. From that point on, every photo he took was warped from failing mechanisms and over-exposure. However, the results of these chemical reactions are not hideous, in fact, they are rather beautiful. What I love about the 'Ruined Polaroids' collection, is that they are reminiscent of abstract landscapes or unreal rock formations, bursting with colour and unrepeatable singularity.
